EDITION 1
'Life Bulb'
BUY
"Life Bulb" conceptualises a shattered glass bulb, though not bereft of its light as it now nurtures a miniature ecosystem of bio-luminescent fungi. This scene invites us to slow down and appreciate the beauty of the natural world and the magic of our intricate inventions, which we often pass by or discard without a thought.
EDITION 2
'Eco Chamber'
BUY
Storms often bring treasures washed ashore, like an old rusted gas cylinder I found and on close inspection, this 'junk' had become a new home to some on its journey through the seas. Crustaceans, barnacles and other organisms had taken up residence on its corroded surface, forming a miniature ecosystem coexisting with the cylinder's decay. The juxtaposition of the manufactured object hosting new life left me with an appreciation for the resilience of the natural world, which is echoed in "Eco Chamber."
EDITION 3
'Sun Dial'
BUY
"Sun Dial" explores the concept of time and our place in the universe. The artwork showcases an intersection between humanity's systems of timekeeping and the natural rhythms of the universe, symbolizing our attempts to harness and hold sway over the world.
However, within the vastness and chaos of the universe we are a but a mere breathe on this timeline.
EDITION 4
'Masquerade'
BUY
The title, "Masquerade," alludes to the masking or disguising of one's true identity. It evokes a sense of obscurity and distortion. The gas mask, an object emblematic of war and violence, remains a sobering reminder of the destruction and conflicts wreaked on the world. This piece depicts the ways in which the brutal history of warfare has only served to mask our connection to the natural world.
